CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - A Chesterfield woman was able to raise $306 for Richmond Animal League by selling calendars of her rescue cat, Gator.

Nicole Riekers says she sold 36 calendars and used the money to buy donations from RAL’s Wishlist.

Riekers adopted her cat from the Brandermill Animal Hospital after he spent most of his life living there.

”Last July of 2019, I asked one of the main doctors if I could take him home and I think she thought I was kidding, but I wasn’t, and here he is,” said Riekers.

She made a calendar of her senior cat, Gator, dressed in something different each month.

She says Gator - surprisingly - doesn’t mind dressing up!

Riekers says she hopes to be able to keep this tradition going every year.
