RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Gelati Celesti announced the company will be opening its eighth location as a pop-up store in Mechanicsville.

The Richmond-based and family-owned craft ice cream maker will be opening the newest location in Rutland Commons located at 9357 Atlee Road, Suite 1105, Mechanicsville, Va. 23116.

The store is expected to open just before Christmas, and in the meantime, their ice cream truck will be serving pints and quarts from the parking lot.

On Dec. 4, customers can get free ice cream from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the store’s opening day.

“We invite everyone to visit us at our truck, indulge in our ice cream, and enjoy a few moments of joy,” Steve Rosser, Owner and President said. “We are so excited to come to Mechanicsville.”

The pop-up store will offer a menu of 13 house favorites and five rotating specials that showcase both classic and unique flavor profiles, as well as Gelati’s signature ice cream cakes, pies, and cookies.

Customers can order online for curbside pickup or come into the store to make their selections.

The new pop-up store is open for takeout only. Outdoor seating is available.

Gelati Celesti asks customers to practice social distancing and wear face masks or coverings while in the store to ensure the health and safety of employees and customers.
