RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Richmond Public Schools Superintendent Jason Kamras held a virtual meeting with RPS families on Wednesday evening.

Kamras was joined by Richmond-Henrico Health Director Dr. Danny Avula to discuss the city’s “Reopen with Love” plan.

Avula is hopeful there will be a coronavirus vaccine in the commonwealth as early as the end of December. He also addressed the impact virtual learning has on students’ mental health.

Kamras is urging families to fill out the survey on their website, so the district can start making decisions for next year.

He ended the meeting by asking families to take the necessary precautions next week during Thanksgiving.
