RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - After announcing last week that it would allow 1,000 fans to attend men’s and women’s basketball games to begin the season, VCU has amended its capacity in light of the governor’s new COVID-19 mandates.

The Rams announced on Tuesday that they will permit 250 spectators inside the Siegel Center for games under the current guidelines. A VCU spokesperson says that the number does not include teams or game personnel.

Approximately 175 tickets will be reserved for season ticket holders, with limited tickets available for students and guests of VCU student-athletes, per a school release.

The Rams will update their capacity numbers if new guidelines are put in place.

VCU opens its season on November 26 against Charlotte at Tennessee. The Rams' home opener is set for December 5 against Mt. Saint Mary’s at 2:00 PM.
