RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The driver involved in a deadly crash in Chesterfield earlier this month has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Police said a recycling truck stopped along the road and a worker, Matthew L. Pitchford, 57, got out to get the recycling bins. That’s when police say a vehicle tried to pass the truck and hit Pitchford.

Pitchford was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle who hit the worker, Jordan Bouldin, 23, stayed at the scene.

On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Bouldin was served with a warrant for involuntary manslaughter in relation to the crash. Bouldin was released on his own recognizance and is set to appear in court on Nov. 4.
