Police firearm stolen from Petersburg patrol vehicle, officials say

PETERSBURG, Va. (WWBT) - Petersburg police said a rifle was stolen from a patrol vehicle on Thursday.

Officials said a “patrol rifle” was stolen from the trunk of an off-duty officer’s Petersburg police patrol vehicle between 10:15 p.m. and 11:35 p.m.

The vehicle was parked in front of the officer’s home in the East Walnut Hill area of the city.
