RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) -On January 12 at approximately 4:38 p.m., Virginia State Police responded to an incident on the James River Bridge southbound I-95 at the 74-mile marker where an adult was threatening suicide.

Officials reopened all lanes on I-95 and detours were lifted by 8:52 p.m.

After further negotiations, Virginia State Police came to a safe conclusion with the individual being detained without further incident, shortly before 8:10 p.m.

All southbound and northbound lanes on I-95 were shut down at the 74-mile marker.

Multiple agencies are assisted police at the scene of the incident, including the Richmond Police Department, Richmond Fire/EMS, Henrico Police Department, and VDOT.
