Two men break into West End apartment

HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) - The Henrico County Police Division is looking for the public’s help to identify two people who broke into an apartment on Saturday night.

Police said the incident happened around 9 p.m. in the 4900 block of Garden Club Circle at the Abberly Twin Hickory Apartments.

“Their actions were very methodical, very cautious and slow about moving throughout the residence,” said Lt. Matt Pecka.

The man who lives inside the apartment wasn’t home at the time but got an alert on his cell phone showing someone inside his home. He immediately called 911.

“Henrico police did respond and arrived to find the door unlocked," Pecka said. "They were able to clear the residence but unable to locate anyone inside.”

However, officers were able to get a hold of video surveillance.

One video shows a man in a baseball hat wearing a backpack, dark gloves and headphones creep slowly through a room in the apartment.

Video of the second man is a bit difficult to see, but it appears he has a sweatshirt on with his hands tucked inside the sleeves. His face is barely distinguishable due to the quick movement.

Several neighbors in the complex weren’t aware of the incident.

“[We] hope that they will be able to identify these two individuals that stole personal items from the victim that will result in a felony offense,” Pecka said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Henrico Police at 804-501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
