Man convicted of killing VSP special agent pleads not guilty to additional gun charge

Travis Ball indicted on federal gun charge

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A man in prison for the shooting death of a Virginia State Police special agent could face another 10 years.

Travis Ball was sentenced to 36 years in prison in October 2018 in the death of Michael Walter.

Ball pleaded not guilty to a charged of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A two-day trial has been set for Jan. 15 and 16.

If convicted the crime carries the potential of 10 years in prison.
