15-year-old charged with Richmond man’s murder, shooting dog

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Old Warwick Road.

Police responded to the shooting at Old Warwick Road around 11 p.m. June 21 and found Arthur Robinson III, 33, suffering from a gunshot wound on the scene.

Robinson was transported to the hospital for the treatment but died Saturday morning.

Police said the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

A 15-year-old from Henrico was arrested June 23 and charged with first-degree murder, robbery, breaking and entering with intent to commit robbery, three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, maiming of killing a companion animal and animal cruelty.

Police also believe two additional masked suspects were involved but have not yet been identified.

Police said the suspects broke into Robinson’s home and were chased by his pit bull. The dog was shot in the chest while the suspects fled.

The dog is recovering and is expected to survive.
