Woman charged with discharging firearm on Lee Bridge

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The Richmond Police Department says a woman “suffering a mental health crisis” led to the Lee Bridge being shut down for several hours June 17.

A SWAT Team was called to the area as police attempted to give her medical attention. Police said the situation was “resolved” at 8 a.m.

“She was taken to a local hospital for a medical and mental evaluation,” police said of the woman involved.

No one was injured in the incident, which started around 2 a.m.

Police said Alexis Cosimo, 33, of Richmond, was charged with disorderly conduct, brandishing a firearm and discharging a firearm in a public place.
