Virginia State Police responded to the single-vehicle crash with a confirmed fatality early Thursday morning, at approximately 2:32 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
Chesterfield police are investigating after a home was shot “several times” early Thursday morning.
Police were called to the residence in the 6100 block of Allerton Street for a reported shooting just after midnight.
No injuries were reported in the shooting.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed a bill that bans nearly all abortions into law on Wednesday.
The bill passed the Alabama legislature on Tuesday. The bill makes performing abortion a felony at any stage of pregnancy, with limited exceptions.
The Hopewell School Board is set to make a final decision on whether students will be in school year-round.
If the switch is voted on, Hopewell would be the first school district in Virginia to have year-round school.
