CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - Chesterfield police are investigating after a home was shot “several times” early Thursday morning.
A father and son were sleeping in their Chesterfield home and the next thing they know bullets were piercing through their home.
“Two shots went through and ripped the bottom frame of the door hinge,” the homeowner said.
The man didn’t want to be identified, but everywhere you look outside there’s damage.
“I hear pop pop and then the windows and glass shatter. My dog also goes crazy. Five more shots come through the house and there are seven all together,” the homeowner said.
The incident on Allerton Street overnight appears to be a drive-by shooting.
“I’m a single father. I have no clue. I just jumped up out of bed and called police,” the homeowner said.
The outside looks bad, but the inside looks worse.
Police say no one was hurt.
“It went through the shower and busted the tile out of the bathtub and hit the mirror above the sink,” the man said.
The damage to the door is so bad, it must be replaced.
The incredible super strength of one of the seven bullets, ripping through a beam and piercing through DVDs.
“I live around the corner and I didn’t hear anything,” nearby resident Chris Begonzi said.
All day, neighbors rode by the home slowly. Many were shocked at what’s believed to be a random act of violence.
“It makes me want to keep an eye on what’s going on around the neighborhood,” Begonzi said.
“I have an alarm system and cameras being hooked up as we speak tomorrow morning,” the man said.
This homeowner is sending a clear message to whoever is responsible.
“I have no clue why you did this sh** but I’m a family man, so take that business elsewhere,” he said.
Police have not released any suspect information.
The incident remains under investigation.
