RICHMOND, VA (WWBT/WXIX) - One easy way to save on cosmetics is to find drugstore versions that work well.
However, if you’re a die-hard fan of pricier products, there are still ways to save.
Your first move is to visit a site like Raise, to see if you can find a discounted gift card to your favorite beauty or department store. We spotted discounted cards to Sephora, Bath and Body Works and Macy’s, among others.
Some stores will reward you for recycling containers. Return six empty MAC product containers, and you’ll get a free lipstick. Return five empty pots to a Lush store and you’ll get a free face mask.
Another hack is looking for professional sizes of your favorite foundation or other products on eBay. An ounce of Estee Lauder’s Double Wear foundation at a department store sells for $42.
But we spotted a 6.7 ounce, new professional sized bottle on eBay for $89.
One caveat you’ll want to make sure those products are new, and from reputable sellers.
Sephora fans know you get a free gift during your birthday month, no purchase required. But Sephora is also known for free samples, and for free makeup classes.
Signing up for newsletters and following your favorite brand’s social media feeds are good ways to get discount codes, too.
