RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Sunday night crash has caused a power outage at Broad Rock Elementary School in Richmond.

According to Richmond Public Schools officials, a car reportedly hit a pole near the school.

Dominion Energy officials say the rain has caused a delay in repairing service.

Officials say the school’s generator is powering the building, so the school will operate on regular schedule.

School temperatures and lunch operations will not be affected.

Officials say the power may be restored mid-day, but there is no guarantee.

Parents have been notified via robocall.
