Stratford University closing Glen Allen campus
The school is closing three campuses in Virginia.

GLEN ALLEN, VA (WWBT) - Stratford University officials confirmed Thursday that three of its campuses in Virginia - including one in Glen Allen - are closing.

The other schools are in Virginia Beach and Newport News.

A school spokesperson says the closure is coming due to low enrollment.

WAVY reports that more than 500 students will be impacted. The Glen Allen location currently has 117 students.

David Brand, vice president of Academics for the university, says the school will be hosting town hall type meetings for students to address any concerns.

School officials told WAVY that May 24 is the last day for all scheduled classes, but classes that require in-person labs will be able to do that on campus until the end of the fourth term in October.
