CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Some Chesterfield kids got quite the nature lesson Thursday when two owls were rescued at Kiddie Academy of Midlothian.

A wounded owl was found outside the building. It was captured at taken to Woodlake Animal Hospital.

But it wasn’t alone. A baby owl was in a tree near the school. It was pulled to safety by Chesterfield County Fire and EMS and also taken to Woodlake Animal Hospital.

Owl Rescue

We had an unexpected adventure today at KA! It started with a wounded Owl at our doorstep. With the help of some of our amazing parents we were able to capture the owl and take him to the Woodlake Animal Hospital. Soon after, we found a baby owl in the trees near by as hawks were circling. Thanks to a cooperative effort between the Chesterfield County Fire and EMS and Chesterfield County Animal Services, the baby owl was rescued and taken to Woodlake Animal Hospital waiting for the Area Rehabbers Klub to come get them! Thank you to all those that took part in this incredible rescue!!!!
