Richmond police are investigating this week’s third deadly shooting.
Police responded to the shooting on W. 27th Street on Thursday afternoon, where they found a man shot to death.
A Chesterfield house fire occurred in the 13200 block of Drakewood Road on Thursday afternoon.
The home suffered severe damage, including a partial roof collapse.
Residents gathered on the Northside to hold city officials accountable in their goal of reducing the city’s eviction rates.
Mayor Levar Stoney said he would take action after Richmond’s eviction rates surfaced.
The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office will now place an American Flag over veterans and retired first responders when they die, if it is safe to do so.
“The Sheriff’s Office holds all military veterans and retired first responders in high regard. It is only fitting that we honor them and their families during their passing. We are proud to offer this service to our community and grateful to Woodmen Life for their generous donation of the American flags that makes this possible,” said Col. David R. Hines.
