Police will provide rabies shots for dogs and cats on May 18.

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - If your pet needs a rabies shot, Henrico County Police will provide vaccines for dogs and cats from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 18.

You can take your pet to the County Government Center on East Parham Road.

The vaccine costs $10 and includes a rabies tag and a certificate of inoculation.

Pet owners must register and pay, in cash, at the cashier’s office in the Administration Building before seeing a veterinarian.

Pets from all localities are welcome and cats must be in carriers.

Under Virginia law, dogs and cats 4 months of age and older must be vaccinated for rabies.

Henrico dog licenses will also be available for $10.
