Apps can help you save, stick to a budget

Apps to help you save, budget

(WWBT/WXIX) - The right apps can make it easier - and fun - to spend less and grow your savings.

An app called Digit analyzes your spending patterns, and looks for chances to transfer anywhere from $5 to $50 to savings every two or three days.

Digit comes with a guarantee that says it will cover overdraft fees if you get them. Digit is free for the first 30 days, then it’s $2.99 a month.

An app to help you budget on the go is Pennies. If you freelance, or have fluctuating pay for some other reason, Pennies makes it easy to adapt your budget on a weekly or monthly basis.

It also lets you see how your spending today will affect your spending tomorrow.

You can also use a free budgeting app like Mint to track your spending, and set savings goals.
