Petersburg police chase ends in crash

A vehicle fleeing police was involved in a crash in Petersburg at West Street and Washington Street.

Petersburg police said a vehicle fleeing Chesterfield police hit another vehicle not involved, sending two women to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on Thursday night.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212.

Benedictine’s Clelin Ferrell drafted by Raiders

Benedictine graduate Clelin Ferrell was selected as the No. 4 overrall pick by the Oakland Raiders in Thursday’s NFL Draft.

During Ferrell’s three years at Clemson, he helped lead the Tigers to win two national championships.

He was one of three Clemson defensive linemen taken in the first round of the draft.

A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being shot on Williamsburg Road on Thursday evening.

Police are looking for a black male suspect who was seen leaving the area.
