Friday is a First Alert Weather Day for a possible afternoon thunderstorm. It is a “marginal” risk from the Storm Prediction Center for strong to severe storms.

Joe Biden joins presidential race

Former Vice President Joe Biden has announced his plan to join the 2020 presidential race.

Biden announced his candidacy Thursday morning with a YouTube campaign video.

4 people hurt in crash with ambulance

A Richmond ambulance was involved in a crash with a pick-up truck Wednesday evening at the intersection of Broad Street and Boulevard.

Two people in the truck and two passengers in the ambulance were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Chesterfield gas station investigation

The Corner Mart and BP gas station on Midlothian Turnpike is being investigated by the state.

One woman’s car would not start after fueling up at the station. The woman says she was told a third of her gas was water.

National Teacher of the Year celebration

Rodney Robinson, the 2019 National Teacher of the Year, will be honored at a ‘welcome back celebration.’

Robinson teaches social studies at the Virgie Binford Education Center at the Richmond Juvenile Detention Center.

He was previously honored as Virginia’s Region 1 Teacher of the Year and the Virginia Teacher of the Year.

Missing Richmond woman

Richmond police are searching for a 71-year-old woman who was last seen in March.

Police say Sallie K. Coleman suffers from multiple health conditions and may have dementia.
