Regency Square files for rezoning to add residential component

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Regency Square has submitted an application to Henrico County to have the land rezoned as an Urban Mixed-Use parcel.

If the county approves the request, developers will move forward with adding a residential component to the current location.

“The primary purpose of the zoning request is to create a walkable, vibrant, mixed-use community as part of our reimagining the Regency experience.” said Mark Slusher, senior vice president with Thalhimer Realty Partners, in a release. “The mall’s redevelopment continues to strengthen the Regency story.”

Henrico County uses the Urban Mixed-Use zoning classification to promote developments with a blend of residential, commercial, office uses and open spaces.
