Easter guide: Where to find the bunny, egg hunts in Central Virginia

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - If you’re making your plans to check off some of those Easter traditions with your kids, we’re here to help.

From visits with the bunny to Easter on Parade, we’re teaming up with some of the best family friendly event finders in Central Virginia, including Richmond Family Magazine and Macaroni Kid Richmond.

Where’s the bunny?

- Before Sunday, Hop on over to basically any mall for a chance to visit with the Easter Bunny.

- Bass Pro Shop has a free Easter Bunny event, plus kids eat free while the bunny is in town!

- Put on your Easter best for a great picture opportunity this year as Short Pump Town Center is hosting a field of tulips April 18-20.

- Lewis Ginter should also have a beautiful sight as Peter Rabbit greets visitors and poses for pictures at Peek-a-Bloom with Peter Rabbit on April 20-21.

Looking for an egg hunt?

“Lots of churches have easter egg hunts," said Margaret Thompson with Richmond Family Magazine. "Some libraries. So check your local churches. Lots of local fun going on.”

Westchester Commons is hosting an Eggapalooza this year on April 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“So, that’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Thompson. "They’ll have an Easter Bunny and an egg hunt and inflatables and face painting and entertainment and juggling and an Easter bonnet contest.

Maymont is known for its celebration, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with food, activities, storytelling and live performances, plus a visit from the Easter Bunny.

And a Richmond favorite Easter on Parade is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday on Monument Avenue.
