UVA defeated Texas Tech 85-77 in overtime on Monday to win its first-ever men’s NCAA basketball championship.

“I don’t know if all these guys will remember this, but when they come into my office I got a poster of Rocky on the steps, and I told them, I said, ‘I just want a chance at a title fight one day.’ That’s all we want,” said UVA coach Tony Bennett.

Disapproval grows for Virginia leaders

Approval ratings for Virginia’s top three leaders has declined in recent months, but a majority of voters say they should stay in office.

In a Wason Center for Public Policy at Christopher Newport University poll released Tuesday morning, Gov. Ralph Northam has a disapproval rating of 49%. Lt. Justin Fairfax is at 39% and Attorney General Mark Herring is at 28%.

Job fairs

If you’re looking for a career in business, accounting or IT, John Tyler Community College is hosting a career fair from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester Campus off Jefferson Davis Highway.

Also on Tuesday, Henrico County Public Schools is holding a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Eastern Henrico Recreation Center at 1440 N. Laburnum Avenue for bus drivers and school nutrition workers.
