Chesterfield teen brings Lionel Richie to tears during American Idol audition

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Shayla Winn, who goes by Shayy, brought judge and musician Lionel Richie to tears with her performance during her American Idol audition.

The teenager from Midlothian battled a brain tumor last year, which caused her to go partially blind.

Shayy’s audition aired on Wednesday evening.

Many Twitter users, including Richie, took to the social platform to express their reaction to Shayy’s performance.
