MECHANICSVILLE, VA (WWBT) - A Mechanicsville woman will be featured in a Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month campaign launching in New York City’s Time Square.
Survivor Robin Hill is hoping to use her story to spread awareness in March, which is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
Colon and rectal cancers are the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men and woman.
Hill is an awareness ambassador for Fight Colorectal Cancer.
“I advocate for awareness. I want people of all ages to know the symptoms, and to not be afraid to ask a medical professional about screening. I want more screenings for more people at no cost. I want people to know that colorectal cancer is not only treatable, but it’s preventable,” said Hill in a release.
