NORFOLK, VA (WWBT) - Pamunkey Chief Robert Gray announced the tribe’s plan to bring a world-class resort casino and spa to Norfolk.

The tribe says they chose Norfolk because the city is welcoming, inclusive and has momentum created by years of strategic leadership and vision.

Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Cooper Alexander is welcoming the Pamunkey Tribe with open arms.

“The tribe’s decision validates Norfolk as an emerging destination for tourism in the mid-Atlantic, and the center for entertainment in Hampton Roads,” Alexander wrote in a statement.
