RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - This Hump Day inches us closer the holiday season, which hopefully means enjoying an extended weekend.

School groundbreaking

The money from the Richmond meals tax is about to be put to use as Richmond Public Schools breaks ground on three schools Wednesday morning. This is the start of a 20-year improvement project that was set in motion last year.

Abdool Zaman captured

After being arrested in New York, Abdool Zaman will get a visit from Henrico police as they work to solve the shooting deaths of two 18-year-olds near Highland Springs High School. Zaman is accused of shooting and killing his daughter and her cousin last week.

No wall?

President Donald Trump was forceful in demanding Congress approve funding for a border wall or he would have no problem shutting down the government. But that stance is quickly weakening now that Congress has held firm in not approving the funding. The wall was a fundamental position of Trump’s campaign, but the promise of funding from Mexico has not come to fruition and alternative sources of money have not materialized.
