RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Lyft ride share has selected Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond to be their December recipient for their community grants program.
The Ronald McDonald house provides a “home away from home” and services for families whose children are receiving medical treatment in the Richmond area.
The initiative kicked off in August to support the work of Richmond area non-profit organizations focused on building better communities.
Every month, Lyft awards one nonprofit $1,000 in Lyft ride credits to ease transportation challenges and to support the work they do in the Richmond community.
Previous recipients include YWCA Richmond, ReEstablish Richmond, and Spread the Vote.
“Many of our families rely on the RMHC Richmond staff for transportation, and we need a new vehicle," said Kerry Blumberg, Executive Director RMHC Richmond. “This Lyft grant will greatly help us to get our full house of families to and from the hospital this holiday season.”
Any organization in the Richmond area interested in the Lyft grant, can apply here.
