Downed power lines close part of Hull Street

Posted by Colby Rogers - email

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Crews spent Monday morning repairing downed power lines that that shut down part of Hull Street.

About 1,400 hundred residents were without power, traffic lights were out, and drivers had be diverted.

Officials say a bolt broke off a power pole and all the lines came down across Hull Street between Warwick and Linwood avenues.

The downed wires immediately brought traffic to a standstill and commuters were forced to use a detour as crews began the process of repairs.

Employees at Pat's Auto watched and waited, unable to do much until the electrical work was completed.

Officials say Dominion Power crews performed a permanent fix to the poll and they don't anticipate any further problems.
