RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) - State Police continue to investigate an accident that left a Richmond woman dead.
It happened shortly after 7:00 Sunday morning on interstate 95 just south of the Bells Road exit.
Police say 71-year-old Betsy N. Locke was driving south with her son on I-95 when she veered left, into another vehicle.
That vehicle then hit the jersey wall and overturned.
The driver, 67-year-old Barbara J. Simmons died at the scene.
Police say she was not wearing a seatbelt.
Locke and her son were not injured.
Police point to drowsy driving as the reason for the crash. They have ruled out drugs, alcohol and speed.
Locke has been charged with reckless driving.
