RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) - A young man gunned down last weekend on Richmond's south side was remembered Saturday by his family and friends.
28-year-old Sean McKay was murdered last Sunday during a dust-up with another man on Chuckatuck Avenue.
Police say the man who killed him turned the gun on himself and died as well.
Sean's closest friend is hopeful the tragedy will make police aware of changes that he believes need to be made.
"They just need to be more in touch and instead of turning a blind eye and a deaf ear, start listening to the people that tell them what is going on in the community that live there," said McKay's friend Glenn Sutphin.
Stuphin said that he thought of Sean like a brother and said his unique personality and love of Star Wars will be missed.
