RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The federal government has awarded $22.7 million in grants to 133 homeless programs in Virginia.
The U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development says the money will be used for emergency shelters and continuum of care grants.
HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan said Thursday the grants will help stabilize resources to help homeowners and renters who may lose their housing because of foreclosure or job loss.
