From NBC12 News

HOPEWELL, VA (NBC12) - An apartment building in Hopewell is deemed uninhabitable after an overnight fire.

Firefighters say around 4:30 Sunday morning a fire broke out at the Parkside Apartments on Burnside St.

Pictures taken by witness Adam Kliebenstein show heavy smoke and fire engulfed the building.

Additional crews from Colonial Heights, Prince George and Fort Lee were needed to control the blaze.

Red Cross officials say 13 families lived in the building.

They say all are now staying with friends and relatives.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
