Police investigate two overnight robberies

RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) - Richmond Police are seeking suspects involved in two Friday night robberies.

The first happened in the 300 block of N. 2nd St.

Around 8:45 a man was walking along the street when he was approached by two men.

Police say one of the suspects struck the victim in the back of the head and robbed him of his wallet.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for a laceration to the head.

He then called police.

The second robbery happened shortly after 11:00 p.m. in the 4300 block of Chamberlayne Ave.

Police say a woman had parked her car and was retrieving something from her trunk when she was approached by a man with a handgun.

The suspect demanded the woman's purse.

Police say the victim then tried to flee from her attacker but fell.

The suspect then grabbed her purse and ran off.

No arrests were made in either incident.
