HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Police say vandals took a load of bricks and threw them into cars parked on several streets in Henrico's near west end Wednesday night.

Neighbors on W. Club Lane, Westbourne Drive, Boyle Avenue, and W. Franklin Street awoke Thursday morning to find their windows smashed in.

Resident Mike Davis was among the first to find out his car had been hit. He says he's been on the phone ever since.

"So far, I've been dedicating my morning to talking to body shops, car dealerships, auto glass repair folks and my insurance company," Davis said.

His guess is that it was a group of kids - one of them driving, and at least one more chucking bricks at as many car windows as possible.

On West Franklin Street alone, at least a dozen vehicles were damaged.

"I hope it was worth it," said neighbor Donna Silvestri. "I mean, they really put a lot of people, made a lot of lives difficult for this morning."

There was no attempt to hide the evidence. Somewhere beside each car was the brick that was thrown at it. Most, hit the glass - others missed their targets.

"You know they must be catchers 'cause they're sure not throwers," said neighbor Patrick Scanlan.

Police said they were unable to pull any fingerprints because the bricks were so coarse.

Henrico Police ask anyone with information to call 501-5000.
