Richmond delivery drivers assaulted and robbed

RICHMOND, VA (NBC12)  - Police are looking for suspects in two overnight robberies that targeted food delivery drivers.

The first happened around 11:00 p.m. in the 600 block of Montvale St.

Police say the victim was in front of a home making a delivery when he was hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat.

The suspect then took the delivery man's food and ran off.

The second incident happened in the 2200 block of Walcott Place.

Police say the driver was making a delivery when he was approached by a man with a handgun.

The suspect demanded the victim's food but during the confrontation the victim realized the thief's gun was a fake.

Police say there was a brief struggle and the suspect ran off with nothing.

No arrests have yet been made and both victim's refused medical treatment.

Anyone with information on either of these crimes is asked to call police.
