HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - The second of three meetings on a controversial school redistricting proposal in Henrico County is tonight.
Hundreds of parents showed up for the first meeting at Hermitage High School last night.
Henrico Schools plans to open a new high school and middle school next fall to help alleviate overcrowding.
A committee has drawn up options for new attendance boundaries, including room for improvements.
Tonight's meeting will be at Elko Middle School and Wednesdays will be at Godwin Hight School. Both meetings will start at 6 p.m.
All feedback from those attending the meetings will be in writing so that everyone gets a chance to express their thoughts.
The redistricting committee plans to make its recommendation to the Henrio School Board in April. A vote on the issue is expected in May.
