Crews repair broken gas main in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (AP) - Crews in South Richmond have repaired a gas leak that caused several businesses to evacuate Thursday.

A strong gas odor was detected around 8 a.m. Thursday at Sixth Street and Dinwiddie Avenue.

No one was hurt. But, authorities evacuated several businsses in that area as a precaution.

Utility crews discovered a four-inch natural gas main had cracked. They have replaced the damaged section.
