Wine provides the biggest benefit for the heart, according to new study

Drinking wine may have an added heart benefit over other forms of alcohol.

That's what Italian researchers report in a new study.

While drinking moderate amounts of alcohol had a health benefit, researchers say those who mostly drank wine had the highest levels of omega-three fatty acids.

They suspect compounds in wine trigger the body to produce more of the healthy fat.

Past studies have shown omega-three fatty acids can protect the heart from disease.
