The next time you have a mammogram or an x-ray -- bring along a picture of yourself.
Israeli researchers found when a picture of the patient was clipped to their xray scans -- the radiologist was more likely to conduct a thorough exam of the images.
For the study, radiologists examined medical images with a patient photo attached -- then re-scanned the same images three months later without the picture.
Researchers found 80 percent of the incidental findings that were originally detected -- were not picked up when they were re-examined.
