Thousands gobble up Thanksgiving feast

RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) - Hundreds of turkeys were baked in preparation for one of the largest Thanksgiving Day feasts in the area.

About 3,000 people were expected to show up for a hot meal at the third annual community Thanksgiving feast.

On Wednesday, volunteers spent hours in the kitchen preparing for the event.

Meals were served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the convention center in Richmond.  It was free and open to the public.
