Wreck involving Richmond police officer

RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) -An early morning accident in Richmond involved a police officer. 

Richmond police say an officer's crusier and a pick-up truck collided at the intersection of Libbie and Grove avenues. 

It happened around 12:45 a.m. 

We're told the officer had minor injuries to the hand and was hospitalized as a precaution. 

The passenger of the truck was sent to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. 

An investigation is underway.
