Vote expected on creating Central Va. transportation authority

From NBC12 News

RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) - Officials with the Richmond Regional Planning District Commission plan to vote on the Central Virginia Transportation Authority today.

If approved, the transportation authority could provide a way to raise millions for road projects through new and increased taxes and fees.

But Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover counties would have to agree to the plan.

Last week, Henrico told state officials the county isn't interested right now.
