Summer vacation plans foiled by high fuel prices

If you plan to drive to your summer vacation you already know it's going to be pricey.

AAA says you can expect to spend an extra $250 over the next three months.

That's based on current prices, which are averaging $3.89 right now.

The high gas prices have some people thinking twice about those drives to the oceanfront or mountains.

"We were planning to go to the beach but now we're not because of the gas prices," said traveler Donnie Daniel.

"It's going to be ridiculous," said traveler Penn Mohrmann. "I mean summer trips are either going to have to go down or they're going to have to lower the gas prices."

That's not expected to happen anytime soon.

Experts predict gas will top $4.00 a gallon in just the next few weeks.
