Sprint CEO asks for shareholders' patience

From NBC12 News

Sprint Nextel CEO Dan Hesse says the company is taking the necessary steps to regain its momentum against its wireless competitors.

Hesse faced tough questions at Sprint's annual shareholder meeting today in Reston. The meeting came a day after the Kansas-based company said it lost more than one million of the highly valued monthly customers during the first quarter.

He told investors the company is working to improve customer service, a measure he says will slow the migration of customers to other wireless providers.

Hesse also says the company is focusing on attracting new customers likely to spend more, but he cautioned he didn't expect significant improvement in Sprint's finances until the end of the year.
