Monday is a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY due to the potential for a few strong storms in the afternoon and evening.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed a portion of central VA under a "MARGINAL" risk of severe storms. That's a 1 out of 5 on the severe weather threat scale (all counties in green).
The main concern with any storms that do develop will be heavy rain, strong wind gusts and small hail. The coverage of storms is not expected to be nearly as widespread as what we experienced on Sunday afternoon and evening.
Here is a look at what the radar could look like around 6:30 p.m. Monday according to our short range computer guidance:
Make sure you have the NBC12 weather app handy. You'll get any notification of a Severe Thunderstorm Warning or Flood Advisory right to your phone and you can track the radar as well!
