CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Tara Krohn, Nicole Rowland and Jackie Tully have been named Chesterfield's Teachers of the Year.
Rowland was named the overall Teacher of the Year.
Krohn earned the elementary school award for her "hands-on, engaging, unscripted" teaching, according to the Chesterfield County Public Schools.
Krohn teaches second grade at Woolridge Elementary.
Rowland won the middle school award for her "project-based learning" methods at Providence Middle School.
The school district said she is a "master teacher" who lets student interest drive the classroom instruction while integration real-world experiences.
Tully, and English teacher at Midlothian High School, earned the award for high school teachers.
She works with the first online newspaper in Chesterfield and teaches students to be teachers themselves in a Service Learning class.
