STAFFORD, VA (WWBT) - A Stafford teacher was named the 2018 Washington Post Teacher of the Year.
Dan Reichard is a fifth-grade teacher at Kate Waller Barrett Elementary School, and this is his sixth year teaching. He was chosen from 20 finalists across the Washington, D.C. region.
"It is a genuine honor to have been chosen as representative of the dedicated, creative, and innovative teaching and learning that is taking place daily in Stafford County Public Schools. I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as the 2018 Washington Post Teacher of the Year. I have worked with many incredible teachers. Having had the opportunity to visit Mr. Reichard's class on numerous occasions, I can say with confidence that he is among the very best. This recognition is well-deserved," said Stafford County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. W. Bruce Benson.
